Municipal Election Results
The 2024 Civic Election Results can be viewed in the Administration Office and are also attached below.

Congratulations to our elected officials and thank you to everyone who participated. Special shout out to the 146 voters who took the time to come out to the polls. Thank you to all of our candidates for putting your name forward, I’m sure we will see some of you in future elections. Special thanks to our election officials Jenna Johnson and Dana Jones.
Stay tuned for news of the first organizational meeting of Council which will be held in the coming days where those elected will take oath and assume their seats. Until that is arranged, the former Council remains in office as per the Local Government Elections Act, 2015.

Annual Marathon
The marathon is a long-distance running event with an official distance of 42.195 kilometres (26 miles and 385 yards), usually run as a road race. The event was instituted in commemoration of the fabled run of the Greek soldier Pheidippides, a messenger from the Battle of Marathon to Athens.
The marathon was one of the original modern Olympic events in 1896, though the distance did not become standardized until 1921. More than 500 marathons are held throughout the world each year, with the vast majority of competitors being recreational athletes as larger marathons can have tens of thousands of participants.
